Abstract
Review paper dealing with the outspoken need for models describing
the microclimate at the exterior of the building envelope. In
building physics, detailed hygrothermal calculations are performed
on the basis of meteorological data, not considering the complex
interaction with specific features of the proposed building and
its surroundings. KEYWORDS: Microclimate, moisture balance,
driving rain, condensation, convection, recommendations for
further studies.
