    Abstract

First we recapitulate the present knowledge about microbands (MB2s). On this basis we suggest that the grains with profuse microbanding may deform with slip on one single slip plane. This suggestion is substantiated by the observation of clustered MB2s. Furthermore we show that the MB2 walls consist of a loosely knit dislocation network.
