Abstract

This chapter presents the modeling behavior and mechanical properties behind capsule-based self-healing composites with a focus on polyurea capsules as the most reported types of capsule materials used in the literature. Firstly the classification of different self-healing mechanisms is discussed and later in the chapter computational modeling of different self-healing systems is explained and compared.
