Abstract
This paper presents the latest developments on a new method for the calibration of thread gauges by scanning of thread profiles on coordinate measuring machines. The method is compared with other traditional techniques for discussion of advantages and harmonisation of measuring results. Investigations and tests are conducted on elements of the procedure for reduction of both the measuring uncertainty and the procedure duration. Further developments to extend the method to threads of different sizes and geometries are presented.
