    Abstract

Three different glazings have been investigated in the Danish experimental setup METSET. (A device for calorimetric measurement of total solar energy transmittance - g-value).The purpose of the measurements is to increase the confidence in the calorimetric measurements. This is done by comparison between measurements and calculations. For the investigated types of glazings the g-value can be found with high accuracy by calculations if the relevant optical and thermal data are available. Therefor the calculation results are considered as reference results. The measurements are carried out under different boundary conditions than the reference conditions. The correction from experimental to reference conditions is carried by using a physical model corresponding to the model described in EN410 and ISO9050. The measured results are in general in good agreement with the calculated results (maximum difference is 4.4%). This gives good reason to increase the confidence in the method used to obtain the measured g-values.
