Abstract
Indoor environmental quality was assessed in primary schools in three countries with different climatic conditions, cultures, and building types. Measurements of temperature, relative humidity, CO2, NO2, ozone, TVOC, formaldehyde and a questionnaire survey about the pupils’ perception of the indoor environment were conducted. Classrooms in Slovakia and in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) had higher levels of air pollution and lower children satisfaction with IEQ than in Sweden. Large differences in ventilation strategies may be the main reason.
