Abstract
This developmental paper outlines some initial findings from a study on managers’ experiences of telework, that is, working from home (WFH), and the associated advantages and disadvantages. It provides a brief overview of the literature concerning experiences of telework and distance management. The study draws on data collected on Danish and German managers who worked from home during the first national lockdowns in Spring 2020. A comparison of the perceived advantages and disadvantages offers insight into which factors affect managing from home (MFH), which could have implications for managers’ well-being if organisations continue to offer the option to work from home post-COVID-19.
