Magnetic Bloch oscillations in the near-Ising antiferromagnet CoCl2#center dot#2D2O

    Abstract

    We have investigated the possible occurrence of magnetic Bloch oscillations in CoCl2 . 2D2O. We were unable to observe these oscillations at 20.0 K, just above T-N. In an attempt to explain this result, we studied spin waves in the a*-c* plane in order to estimate the effect of the interchain couplings. The values we obtain for the coupling parameters are in reasonable agreement with the previous studies in the b*-c* plane.
