Abstract
We characterise a novel low-crosstalk and low-loss dual-core fibre for trans-Oceanic transmission, and show that the low crosstalk enables equal performance for co- and counterpropagation through the fibre. We use 80-km spans and transmit 12.800 km with negligible inter-core crosstalk.
