The article presents conclusions from the action research project "Employee participation in the introduction of cleaner technologies", which was carried out in fice Danish companies in 1993-95.The project was focusing on the role of employees and their elected refpresentatives in the prevention of environmental problems caused by the companies. The aim of the project was the development of a working life where environmental protection and working conditions are closely related. In the article the individual, the organizational and the institutionalized learning processesthroughout the project are examined.
