    Abstract

Selected linear and nonlinear optical spectroscopies are being described with special emphasis on the possibility of obtaining simultaneous spectral, temporal and spatial resolution. The potential of various experimental techniques is being demonstrated by specific examples mostly taken from investigations of the electronic, and opto-electronic, properties of semiconductor nanostructures.
