Abstract

The supporting document describes the present knowledge about explosive spalling of traditional concrete and dense concrete based on 36 references and the authors own tests and observations.The document concludes that the risk of spalling is limited for traditional concretes within 3-4 percent moisture by weight, and that further research is needed for extending these limits. This further research is divided into 4 steps as a plan for the future research work.
