Abstract
Since the laser was invented in 1960, the industrial applications of this tool has grown and grown. And - since the beginning of the 1980'ies, the major industrial application of lasers in production has been laser cutting.
In this paper a short review of the development of the laser cutting process and technology will be given and some recent development trends within this technology will be discussed.
