    Abstract

Landfilling in EASETECH is built from several modules each representing: a technology, a process, an emission to the environment or multiple of these. Data for each module is collected from scientific articles and other literature and validated through expert judgment. The data is representative for municipal solid waste. It should be kept in mind that the data usually reflect specific conditions. Some modules exist in multiple versions to reflect different climatic conditions, waste types or technological conditions.

In this document the different modules are presented along with the ideas behind them and the data the module holds. The figure on page 7 gives an overview of the approach to the landfill modelling in EASETCH , the numbers set next to the boxes match the chapter where this module/technology is described and documented.

The document only covers landfilling of household waste. Landfills for inert materials, hazardous waste etc. will need their own input data but can use the same generic framework.
