Abstract
The subject of the paper is the valuation of travel time savings
(emanating from investment in transport infrastructure). In the
first part of the paper the question is approached within a
microeconomic framework. It is discussed if and how the theory can
give indications on the relative value of travel time elements and
on the extrapolation of time values into the future. In the second
part of the paper the same questions are investigated on the basis
of the results of several empirical studies.
