Abstract

Protein engineering has been used to improve many enzyme features useful for industrial catalysis. Nevertheless, further integration of protein engineering into biocatalytic process scale-up will lead to better streamlining of the scale-up problem. Identified targets include the need for enzyme robustness rather than solely optimization.
