Abstract
INTEGRAL started a new series of Galactic Plane Scans (GPS) observations on Jan 09th 2017.
Here we report on the GPS observations of the Muscae region performed in revolution 1769 and covering the field of the recent AGILE gamma-ray transient AGL J1035-6055 (ATel #9947, #9955).
From Jan 09 15:40 (UTC) to Jan 10 09:20 (UTC), i.e. about 3 days later than the enhanced gamma-ray activity detected by AGILE, AGL J1035-6055 was in the field of view of both IBIS/ISGRI and JEM-X1+JEM-X2 instruments onboard INTEGRAL for a total effective exposure time of about 10 ks and 15 ks, respectively.
No source was significantly detected by INTEGRAL inside the AGILE error circle, both in the individual Science Window pointings and mosaicked images. From the latter, we obtained 3-sigma upper limits of about 13 mCrab, 5 mCrab and 2 mCrab in the energy bands 60-100, 22-60 and 3-10 keV, respectively.
Further INTEGRAL observations in the direction of AGL J1035-6055 are planned for the next days.
In addition, we note that also the periodic Supergiant Fast X-ray Transient IGRJ11215-5952 has been detected by INTEGRAL during these GPS observations at about 5-sigma level and 4-sigma level in the energy bands 18-40 keV (5.5 ks effective exposure) and 3-10 keV (22 ks total effective exposure), respectively. The measured fluxes are about 9 mCrab (18-40 keV) and 2 mCrab (3-10 keV). Such detection agrees with the expected time (January 8th) of the source's outburst peak (adopting a periodicity of 164.6 days; Romano et al. 2009).
