Abstract

In this paper we present two methodologies for calculation of wave added resistance inside the classical strip theory [1]. The rst method is principally an implementation of Maruo's far-eld equation [2] using the Kochin function. For the second method we used a new version of the original formulation by Salvesen in [3]. The results for several ship geometries are compared with the measurements and other reference solutions. Through this, we demonstrate how strip theory can be employed more eectively for fast and accurate computation of the wave added resistance.
