Abstract

Digitalisation is changing our everyday life.Digital and networked technologies are determining the current transformation in society and economy and are bringing the world into the digital age. The opportunities and risks of these technologies must be recognised, understood and used to successfully shape this change. Based on the characteristics, development stages and challenges of the so-called digital transformation, this article shows the necessary management tools for a successful business change. The focus is on the changing principles of digital leadership and associated effects on the management of organisations. The establishment of digital governance steers this cultural change and is complemented by the presentation of essential recommendations for management action. Following this, an overview of some of the central instruments for the implementation of a digital transformation is presented.
