Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to describe the basis for improving
the control of air temperature and heat supply in greenhouses
using a method which controls the energy supply by a model-based
prediction of the air temperature in the greenhouse. Controllers
of this type are the minimum variance controller, the generalized
predictive controller and the proportional-integral-plus(PIP)
controller. Prediction-based controllers have proved to be
powerful in controlling the supply temperature in a distinct
heating system.
