Abstract
The birds formation flight is studied by means oftheoretical
aerodynamics, heuristic methods anddistributed systems. A
simplified aerodynamic analog is presented, and calculations of
drag savings and flight range are shown for sometypical cases,
including the line abreast flightwith various arrangements
invee-like formations.
