    Abstract

Adequate and efficient reaction to network failures in multi-domain network scenarios is currently a hot topic in the research community. We present an integrated model of a GMPLS controller which supports dynamic failure handling. Two main protocols are used – an extended BGP protocol for AS-disjoint path dissemination and an extended RSVP-TE model for multi-domain restoration support. Different failure notification procedures and different standard and novel failure restoration strategies are supported. The presented models are evaluated in large-scale multi-domain topologies.
