Abstract
In this study, we focus on the available near-real-time (NRT) daily and hourly level 4, optimally interpolated, gap-free, products from satellite SST retrievals, specifically developed for the Baltic Sea and North Sea area and distributed through the Copernicus Marine Service. Focus is given on the validation of the products with the standard in situ drifting and moored buoys and analysis of their effective spatial resolution.
