Gestational and lactational exposure to thyroperoxidase-inhibiting compounds disrupts the developing thyroid gland transcriptome

Research output: Contribution to conferencePosterResearchpeer-review

Abstract

Thyroperoxidase (TPO) inhibiting medical drugs and environmental chemicals can cause thyroid hormone (TH) system disruption with adverse consequences to TH-dependent processes in the developing brain and other tissues. Here we investigated the effects of methimazole (MMI) and amitrole on the developing fetal and postnatal thyroid gland.
