Abstract
In a cart-ball balancer the control objective is to balance a ball
on a curved track. This simulation study in Simulink tries to
stabilise the system with a nonlinear adaptive controller. A
simplified adjustment mechanism is implemented, and test results
show that the adjustment mechanism works, if it is applied to the
cart controller, but fails to work on the ball controller.
