Abstract

Fuel gas electrode consists of a cermet (precursor) material containing a metallic component or a metal oxide component which can be reduced to a metallic component, and ceramic additives containing a material having a liner thermal expansion than that of the metallic or metal oxide component. Also claimed is a membrane for an electrochemical cell comprising the fuel gas electrode, solid electrolyte and air electrode having a composition of formula: Y1-xCaxMnO3.
