Abstract

Alkaline fuel cells use liquid potassium hydroxide as electrolyte, having a wide temperature range of operation and offering the potential for low cost catalysts for both anode and cathode, from which electrodes are prepared. This chapter starts with a review of these materials, followed by operation and performance of the technology primarily based results of commercial technologies.
