The technology of self-stratifying coatings has the potential to bring significant ecological and economic benefits in the field of fouling control coatings. Once
the self-stratifying coating is applied, the coating spontaneously separates into multiple layers. This unique property enables a more efficient coating
application process, the use of less raw materials, and potentially leads to improved interlayer adhesion.
