    Abstract

In a number of systematic tests, the formability of tailored blanks consisting of even and different combinations of AISI304 and AISI316 in thickness of 0.8 mm and 1.5 mm have been investigated. In order to analyse the formability of tailored blanks with different sheet thickness, a method based on bulge testing was developed by IPU. In the investigations, three different types of bulge testing were performed. Then a series of different welding speeds test was made. Finally a series of tailored blanks was made. The tests showed that generally there is not a large difference in formability at different welding speeds.
