Abstract

This report summarises the research undertaken through the European Commission funded project UpWind Wp8:Flow. Theobjective of the work was to develop understanding of flow in large wind farms and to evaluate models of power losses due to windturbine wakes focusing on complex terrain and offshore. A crosscuttinga ctivity was to improve and compare the performance of computational fluid dynamics models with wind farm models.
