Abstract
Seasonal storage is necessary if renewable heat sources are to be
applied on a large scale. Pit water storage seems to be a cheaper
alternative to steel tank storage. The lid price is the largest
component of a pit water store with a cost share of about 60% of
the total storage cost. Due to the large share in price the
development of lid constructions is crucial for the development of
pit water storage and seasonal storage. The current report gives a
survey of the most important established and planned designs from
Denmark, Sweden and Germany.
