Introduction: The assessment of the age of bruises inflicted on livestock is an important component of veterinary forensic pathology investigations. However, time is not the only factor affecting the inflammatory response. In the present study, the inflammatory response in experimental porcine bruises was evaluated according to age, sampling site and anatomical location of the lesions.
