    Abstract

A very low crosstalk N×N wavelength router construction based on 1×N AWG multi/demultiplexers has been proposed. The peak crosstalk level of -53 dB is measured in such an 8×8 wavelength router and the power penalty from the router is negligible. Rather large wavelength routing networks can be built using the wavelength router construction presented.
