Abstract

In this study, we investigate and discuss the influence of different proportions of open porosity to total porosity on the acoustic behavior based on measurements. Four kinds of porous polymer materials are analyzed in terms of their basic physical properties, including surface density, flow resistivity, mean pore size, and geometric structure. Sound absorption, impedance and transmission loss curves of these samples are measured, and the results are discussed combined with basic parameters mentioned above.
