    Abstract

The following paper shows possible correlations between results obtained by tracking tests and breakdown field strengths for non coated Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymers (GFRP) with either a polyester or an epoxy based resin. 15 specimens have been tested according to IEC Publication 60587 [4]. The breakdown field strength of specimens cut from similar samples is then determined by a new method capable of estimating the stressed volume [8]. The two values are finally compared and sought incorporated in an analytical formula. All test specimens are supplied by Danish manufacturers of wind turbine blades.
