    Abstract

The Cloud Radio Access Network (C-RAN) is viewed as a new solution with benefits of reduced cost by sharing resources. This is achieved by the separation of the radio part and the radio processing part, where the transport network between them is referred to as front-haul. It is essential to meet the stringent service requirements of protocols running over the front-haul. This paper describes the C-RAN features and challenges. Furthermore, this paper verifies the packet preemption technology in the C-RAN based on both numerical analysis and simulation results
