Abstract
Graphite-mixed sintered magnesium borate TL dosemeters are attractive for beta/gamma dosimetry because they combine a low energy dependence to beta-rays with near tissue or air equivalence to photon irradiations and a high sensitivity. In this paper results from the experimental measurements of the energy response to very low energy x-rays are presented and evidence of agreement between experimental and calculated conversion coefficient H'(0.07, alpha = 0-degrees)/Ka is also shown. A monochromatized x-ray beam from a synchrotron radiation source in the energy range from 3 to 12 keV has been utilized to investigate the energy response.
