    Abstract

Expressions for energy release rate and mode-mixity are derived for a general asymmetric tri-material debonded sandwich configuration. The expressions derived are given in terms of moments and axial forces. The determination of the ω parameter in the mode-mixity expression, partly by use of a finite element formulation using the double cantilever beam specimen with uneven bending moments (DCB-UBM), is discussed.
