    Abstract

    This report deals with the prediction of energy distribution of structure-borne sound in three-dimensional structures consisting of coupled thin rectangular plates. The frequency range addressed is the medium frequency range, which is characterised by having so few modes that a traditional Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) model cannot be employed. The approach employed combines the simplified description of net power transmission from the Mean Value Method (MVM) with the power balance employed in SEA.
