Electrostatic fluctuations and turbulent plasma transport in low-β plasmas

    Low frequency electrostatic fluctuations are studied experimentally in a low-beta plasma, with particular attention to their importance for the anomalous plasma transport across magnetic field lines. The presence of large coherent structures in a turbulent background is demonstrated by a conditional analysis. The importance of these structures for the turbulent transport is demonstrated.
