Abstract

We demonstrate a lateral-current injection photonic crystal laser bonded to a Siplatform and comprising buried heterostructure InGaAsP/InGaAlAs quantum wells. The laser operates CW at room-temperature near 1550 nm with a threshold current of 19 μA.
