Efficient Simulation of Symmetric Field Propagation in Parabolic-index Fibers

    Abstract

    An efficient numerical scheme for simulating circular-symmetric multimode nonlinear propagation in parabolic-index fibers is presented. The time complexity scales at most with M^{2} where M is the number of guided modes included. The cost of accounting for mode profile dispersion is analyzed, and simulations of dispersive-wave generation in multimode propagation are presented.
