Efficient All-Fiber Broadband Frequency Conversion via Intermodal Bragg Scattering

Abstract

We demonstrate effective frequency-conversion via intermodal Bragg-scattering. Conversion efficiency up to −3.6 dB is demonstrated between waves spanning almost 600 nm. All-fiber mode conversion is achieved using a long-period grating capable of converting between modes with an efficiency of 98%.
