In the present report, methods for calculation of the effect on road safety of improved vehicle technology and less technical defects in cars have been developed. The report is an effect as-sessment manual intended for future use. The manual is based on the calculation of the effect on personal injury accidents involving passenger cars. However, a generalisation to other types of vehicles is feasible.
