Introduction of digital mapping techniques in the 28 counties of
Latvia related to the offices of the national mapping agency
(State Land Service). Major components are: Training of regional
staff, procurement of hard- and software, training of technical
staff from State Land Service, HQ. Development of demo-GIS for
Jurmala city. Detailed analysis of GIS infrastructure in State
Land Service, HQ. Implementation of limited GIS facilities for
data capture, conversion and editing. Development of first phase
of a national standard for digital maps – object catalogue.
