Abstract

Industrial scale bioprocesses are poised to suffer from continuous contaminations. It reduces process efficiency and increases the demand for raw materials. In order to advance towards a biobased economy we need to address these bottlenecks. In this project we plan to understand the microbial consortia that resides in a well stablished industrial bioprocess – sugarcane ethanol fermentation – and devise solutions to rationally modulate it.
