Development and verification of nuclear calculation methods for light-water reactors

    Abstract

    The nuclear calculation methods for light-water reactors developed in the TWQDIM SYSTEM of programmes are described. Several methods for unit cell, assembly aa^ over-all reactor burn-up investigations are available. The true irradiation history may thus be followed with respect to local flux spectrum and power changes where the leskige influence from the surrounding lattice on the local unit cell calculation is accounted for, A new accurate method is Introduced for the conti ol rod treatment. The applicability of the various computation methods is verified by means of a great number of detailed calculations that are compared with available measurements.
