Design Capturing with a Model System Using Event Triggered Procedures

Abstract

This paper presents an implementation of such a design knowledge capturing system. Formalised models are used which can support a wide range of design activities, such as; calculation, simulation, visualisation, etc. This enables the system to “observe” the designer's work and react to key situations by exe¬cut¬ing so-called “event triggered procedures”. Some possible applications for these procedures and their use for the capturing of design knowledge are shown (and will be demonstrated in the workshop).
