Abstract
The aim of the project is to develop a software- based nitrogen sensor by using different information from the soil, weather, crop and satellite about the particular field. The Nitrogen Sensor project is concerned with reducing nitrogen pollution in soil. The main objective is to use software instead of hardware sensors in order to make it less expensive to optimize fertilization. A scalable system will be implemented and demonstrated at field locations in Europe – and subsequently commercialized. Software developed in the project will be able to integrate with other FMIS(Farm Management Information System).
