Abstract

The overall purpose of this document is to collect information about the HAVEN demonstration pilots, and based on that to specify demonstration use cases, identify related grid services, describe the validation approach and finally identify the risks for the demonstrations.

HAVEN includes three physical pilots where the HESS capabilities will be validated in real demonstrations. Those are:

• Enabling ultra-fast EV charging in RES-powered grids
• Multi-functional building power balancing with high-power batteries
• Hybrid power plant

HAVEN also includes two virtual pilots where the HESS capabilities will be validated by simulations using a digital twin of the HESS. Those are:

• Multi-microgrid system
• High-speed lifts in skyscrapers

The document has identified and described 13 physical use cases and 6 virtual use cases which will be further developed in HAVEN Task 2.1 and implemented in HAVEN demonstration work package WP6.
